Our client was commissioned to build this eco house which is stepped into a hillside with views across the Kent High Weald, located in Goudhurst.
With the ever-rising cost of energy the end client was very keen to maximise the benefits provided by the following renewable energy technologies included within the design of this project:
• Air Source Heat Pump
• Battery Storage Solution
• Solar Photovoltaic System
• Power Diverter
The above system components are decentralised solutions which come with their own means of individual data acquisition. This is of course useful for maintenance purposes, logging and diagnostics BUT doesn’t give a simple view of the system to the user. As well as providing the battery storage, solar photovoltaic (PV) system and power diverter we have provided a centralised solution to make the end client/building operator's experience simple and effective.
Our centralised solution is in place to handle the control of the component systems as a single entity.
Data is aggregated from the system components then sent to a Cloud server which provides data to a web page for the user to view with ease. In the event of the internet connection being lost the system will store the data for a period of time until the connection is restored.
The centralised system does not depend on the internet connection to maintain control of the system. The system and the Cloud server are arranged to allow remote control and maintain maximum security.
